Winter Storm Warning Continues for the Swift Current Area
The Winter Storm Warning Continues for the Swift Current Region as a Low Pressure system moves through this morning. Bands of precipitation continue to move through southwestern Saskatchewan. Parts of these regions are currently below the freezing mark meaning the precipitation is falling as freezing rain. Other areas have air temperatures slightly above zero meaning rain is occurring. Temperatures continue to cool this morning. This means the areas with rain will transition to freezing rain. If it has not done so already, the rain and freezing rain will turn to heavy snow early this morning and then move out of the are by midday. Snowfall amounts of 10 cm are possible. Environment Canada is calling for Snow Today, heaving at times 10cm with a High of +2, Southeast wind at 50-70km/hr. Cloudy and -8 Tonight. Partly Sunny on Saturday and +2 with a High of +1 for Sunday. Looking ahead to Monday, a High of +2 and +3 on Tuesday. More Sunshine and warming up to +5 for Wednesday and Thursday.
