New Addtions to the Broncos Lineup
The Swift Current Broncos are making a few adjustments to their on-ice lineup. Defenceman Joel Sexsmith is off to the Vancouver Giants in exchange for a first round pick at the 2,019 WHL Bantam Draft. Hailing from Edmonton, AB, Sexsmith was selected by the Broncos with their first round pick, ninth overall at the 2,017 WHL Bantam Draft. The 6ft1, 185lb rear guard has played in eight games for the Northern Alberta X-Treme Prep squad of the CSSHL and has amassed four points (1g-3a) to go along with 12 penalty minutes. He also participated in the WHL Cup this past fall, having suited up for Team Alberta and notching three points (1g-2a), helping Alberta claim a silver medal.
In addition, the Swift Current Broncos completed a deal with the Prince George Cougars acquiring defenceman Josh Anderson of Duncan B.C. 6ft3, 220 lb Anderson was drafted by the Cougars in the first round, third overall, of the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft, Anderson has played in 177 games with the club, scoring 28 points (7g-21a). This season, Anderson has seven points (1g-6a) in 25 games.
