Impaired Driving Stats a Concern in Saskatchewan
As SGI and Policing agencies across the province teamed up for another traffic blitz last month targeting youth drivers, a high volume of tickets were issued for impaired driving. According to the stats released by SGI, 88 tickets issued to new drivers and new motorcyclists in June while 376 impaired driving violations were issued. 333 of those were charged under the Criminal Code of Canada which means drivers exceeded .08 blood alcohol content (BAC), failed a standard field sobriety test for drugs or alcohol, or refused a breathalyzer altogether.
