Heat Warning Issued for Southwest Saskatchewan
Environment Canada is calling for Sunshine through the weekend and hot temperatures with Environment Canada issuing a Heat Warning for the Swift Current area. Beginning on Friday and persisting through the weekend, maximum daily temperatures reaching near 32C or above and minimum overnight temperatures near 16C will be felt in southwestern Saskatchewan. Temperatures are expected to cool ever so slightly below warning criteria come Monday. Drink plenty of water even before you feel thirsty and stay in a cool place. Reduce your heat risk and schedule outdoor activities during the coolest parts of the day. Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle. Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
