Firefighters Put Out Blaze
Late Wednesday afternoon the Swift Current Rural Fire Department responded to a grass fire approximately 12 kms South of the City. 2 Firetrucks, 5 Firefighters and over 30 Farmers battled the blaze for several hours as approximately 10 -12 acres of farmland was consumed. Fire Chief Louie Cherpin says the extreme dry conditions along with Wednesday's brisk winds made the situation volatile. The Cause of the Fire is still under investigation.
