Celebrate Canada Day at Government House

Government House in Regina has an exciting lineup of activities to celebrate Canada Day. Her Honour the Honourable Vaughn Solomon Schofield will commemorate the 150th Anniversary of Canadian Confederation at the Lieutenant Governor's Canada Day Celebration from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

The event is free of charge with the following performers: Master of the Metis Fiddle John Arcand, French-Canadian traditional and Bluegrass music from La Raquette a claquettes, 1940s inspired Rosie & the Riveters and Southern roots and blues classics from Joel Fafard. The Lieutenant Governor and Minister Ralph Goodale will speak at 2:30 pm, and the brief program will conclude at 2:45 pm with the singing of O Canada and a fly past. KAOS Dogsports will do two shows at 1:15 pm and 3:15 pm, and the event will also feature therapy horses from Alpha Equine Learning, a Cricket pitch, bouncy house, Street Culture Kidz face-painters, and complimentary refreshments and snacks. In the spirit of truth and reconciliation, the Treaty 4 Education Alliance will invite guests to learn about the teachings of the sacred painted tipi.
