Air Quality Statement Issued for Southwest Saskatchewan
Due to ongoing fires across British Columbia, Environment Canada has issued a Special Air Quality Statement for Swift Current and the surrounding area. Smoke plumes moving over portions of southern Saskatchewan from forest fires in BC have resulted in deteriorated air quality in the area. Individuals may experience symptoms such as increased coughing, throat irritation, headaches or shortness of breath. Children, seniors, and those with cardiovascular or lung disease, such as asthma, are especially at risk.
If your home is not air-conditioned, be sure the house doesn't get too warm when doors and windows are closed to keep out smoke. Exposure to too much heat can also result in illness. The forecast is calling for Sunshine through the coming week with no significant signs of rain. Mainly Sunny Today with a High of 25. Clear Tonight and 10. More Sunshine on Tuesday and 28 with a High of 30 for Wednesday. Looking ahead to Thursday, a High of 31 and 25 by Friday. Mainly Sunny and a forecast High of 27 for Saturday and up to 30 by Sunday.
The seasonal High for this date is 26 with an overnight Low of 11.
