Air Quality Concerns Continue With Drifting Forest Fire Smoke
Due to ongoing fires across British Columbia, Environment Canada has issued a Special Air Quality Statement for Swift Current and the surrounding area. Smoke plumes moving over portions of southern Saskatchewan from forest fires in BC have resulted in deteriorated air quality in the area. Individuals may experience symptoms such as increased coughing, throat irritation, headaches or shortness of breath. Children, seniors, and those with cardiovascular or lung disease, such as asthma, are especially at risk. If your home is not air-conditioned, be sure the house doesn't get too warm when doors and windows are closed to keep out smoke. Exposure to too much heat can also result in illness. The forecast is calling for Sunshine through the coming week with no significant signs of rain. Mainly Sunny Today and 27. Clear Tonight with a Low of 10. More Sunshine on Wednesday and 30. Looking ahead to Thursday, a High of 32. Partly Sunny for Friday with a slight chance of Showers by Friday and 26. Mainly Sunny and a forecast High of 27 for Saturday and up to 28 by Sunday.
The seasonal High for this date is 26 with a Low of 12.
